Google Street ViewTM is a feature of Google Maps introduced in 2007 that provides 360° panoramic street-level views and allows users to view parts of selected cities and their surrounding areas at ground level. Google Street View displays photos that were taken by a camera mounted on an automobile. Photos can be viewed in different sizes, from any direction, and from a variety of angles. Lines that are displayed along the street are clickable to create a moving panoramic image.

  1. Zoom until you can see individual streets on the map.
  2. A human icon Human Icon appears on the map. Click this icon to view a street view for this location or click any street with a blue border. An info window appears with street level imagery. The green arrow points in the direction you're looking
  3. To rotate the view, do any of the following:
    • Drag the imagery right or left. In some locations, you can drag the imagery up to look skyward.
    • Click the pivot arrows
  4. To zoom in or out, do one of the following:
    • Drag the slider
    • Click + or -
    • Double click the point on the image to zoom in. Once you have done this, click Zoom Out to return to the original view.
  5. To navigate along a street, click one of the white arrows overlaid on the street to move in that direction. You can also use arrow keys. Street names display within the info window. You can navigate on to another street once you reach the center of an intersection.
