About Maryland Real Estate

Buying Maryland Real Estate

if considering a move to Maryland, review the information before buying Maryland real estate.

Maryland Population

Even though Maryland is one of the smallest states in the U.S., it is the wealthiest state in the country. The most densely populated section of the state centers around the middle area and the metropolitan areas of Baltimore and the Washington Beltway. Maryland’s overall population has grown six per cent over the last few years making it a thriving location for those interested in buying Maryland real estate. Outside the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan area, Maryland is largely a rural state.

Maryland Economy

Maryland is an important hub for the life sciences and bio technology industry and is home to many important institutions including Johns Hopkins University, the Food and Drug Administration and the National Institutes of Health. Because of its proximity to Washington D.C., residents find employment in government and aerospace agencies. The Chesapeake Bay area lends itself to major seafood exporting and Maryland also raises crops such as tobacco, poultry, corn, soybeans and dairy products. Baltimore’s coastal location makes it and important shipping location and the eighth largest port in the world.

Maryland Tourism and Recreation

For such a small state, Maryland seems to have a little bit of everything for tourists and residents alike. The Eastern shore has miles of family-friendly beaches near famous Ocean City. Other parts of the state are blessed with spectacular mountain vistas and pathways to American history. Of course those who prefer nightlife can spend some time in the culture-rich central portion of the state. Maryland is also home to some professional sports teams including the Baltimore Orioles MLB team, the Washington Redskins and the Baltimore Ravens, both NFL football teams.

If you’re looking for great scenery, a sense of history and a thriving economy, then you should consider buying Maryland real estate.
